ESTABLISH ACCOUNT
Prior to establishing utility service, which includes water, sewer, garbage, and recycling, you will need to submit an application with documentation (driver’s license and lease agreement) and deliver to Town Hall. It will take 48 hours notification to turn on/off the water. Contact (304) 876-2574 with any questions.

UTILITY RATES
All customers within the town limits are required to pay for this utility service (water, sewer, garbage, & recycling). Water and sewer services are provided outside of town limits, depending on location (please call (304) 876-2574 to check availability). All new residents or businesses must apply and pay a deposit fee. Rates and deposit fees vary according to what service you have. Utilities payments are due on the 20th of every month. If your water is shut off for non-payment there is a $25 fee for reconnection

Bills are rendered monthly.
Minimum monthly charge for:
Residents: $100.86
Businesses: $100.86 to $299.72 depending on nature of business

GARBAGE COLLECTION
The Town provides garbage collection within the corporate limits of Shepherdstown only.
•    Residential and business customers is Friday and Monday.
•    Heavy-use business customers (such as restaurants & bars) are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Garbage should be set out by 7:00am, on collection day, in plastic bags, in cans no larger than 30 gallons with tight fitting lids. The town does not pick up any building or construction materials.

RECYCLING
What can be recycled?

Recycling collection for Residential and business customers is Wednesday. Heavy-use business customers is Tuesday.

Glass recycling for resident and business customers is collected on the last Tuesday of each month.

YARD WASTE
The town offers the pick-up of yard waste. It should be put in paper bags or bins, not plastic.

SPRING & FALL CLEAN UP
The town offers curbside pickup for household items, the first week of May and the first week of November.
